FAQs
What should I expect at my appointment?
Once you arrive, I’ll check you in by receiving your government-issued ID to confirm your identity and age. After, we’ll go over your design to make any last minute changes so you get exactly what you want. It’s okay if it takes time, this is going to go on your skin permanently so don’t apologize—I don’t want you to have any regrets after! Once I print your design, I’ll prep your skin for the stencil and while that dries, I will finish setting up all equipment. After the tattooing is done, I’ll quickly take pictures, wrap you up, and go over the aftercare with you. Once payment is complete, you’re good to go!
Are we allowed to take breaks?
Yes, of course! For smaller tattoos I typically do not take a break, but for bigger tattoos I may take a break midway. You can ask for breaks whenever you need, though try to keep it to a minimum. If you need something to drink or eat, I have a selection of drinks and snacks for you :)
Can I bring a friend with me?
Unfortunately, since I am sharing a space with — at her studio, guests are not allowed at this time. I know how scary it can be getting a tattoo, but I’ll do my best to make sure you’re comfortable at all times!
Do you do cover-ups of scars or other artist’s work?
No, I do not. Perhaps in the future this may change, but currently I do not feel confident in covering up scars or other artist’s work.
What does aftercare look like?
See aftercare information here.
When can I start working out after my appointment?
I would avoid heavy physical activity for the first 48 hours. Light activity is okay, but we just want to avoid sweating or stretching the area.
In the same note, I would try to avoid working out the area that you will be getting your tattoo in before your appointment. You probably won’t feel good if you’re getting tattooed on a sore area.
What should I avoid eating/drink before and after our appointment?
Great question! You should avoid caffeine and alcohol both before and after the appointment. I would also try to avoid anything high in sodium to eat as it could increase bloating.
